Serve Through Worship
Sunday worship is made possible by people who generously share their time and gifts. From offering a warm welcome to leading music and supporting the service behind the scenes, every role helps create a meaningful and welcoming experience
You don’t need professional experience to participate. Training and guidance are provided, and many opportunities can be scheduled according to your availability.
Choir
The Faith Church Choir helps lead the congregation in worship through hymns, anthems, and special music. Choir members grow together musically and spiritually while contributing to Sunday services and seasonal celebrations.
Singers of varied experience levels are welcome. The ability to read music is helpful but not required. Rehearsals are held weekly, with additional practices before special services.
Typical commitment: Weekly rehearsal and scheduled Sunday services.
Greeters and Welcome Team
Greeters are often the first friendly faces people encounter at Faith Church. They welcome members and visitors, answer basic questions, provide worship materials, and help everyone feel comfortable.
This ministry is ideal for people who enjoy meeting others and offering hospitality. Volunteers usually arrive before the service and may also assist during fellowship time
Typical commitment: Arrive 20–30 minutes before a scheduled service..
Audio Visual Team
The Audio-Visual Team helps everyone participate in worship—both in the sanctuary and online. Team members operate microphones, presentation slides, cameras, and livestream equipment.
No previous technical experience is necessary. Training is provided for each role, and new volunteers can begin by observing an experienced team member.

Typical commitment: Arrive 30–45 minutes before a scheduled service and remain briefly afterward.
Acolytes
Acolytes assist worship leaders by carrying the processional cross, lighting candles, and supporting other elements of the service. This ministry gives children and youth a meaningful way to participate in worship and learn about the church’s traditions.
Training is provided, and acolytes serve according to a rotating schedule.
Typical commitment: Arrive 15–20 minutes before a scheduled service.
Scripture Readers
Scripture readers proclaim the appointed Bible passages during worship. Through thoughtful preparation and clear reading, they help the congregation hear and reflect on God’s Word.
Readers receive the passages in advance and are encouraged to practice before Sunday. Guidance is available for volunteers who would like to become more comfortable reading publicly.
Typical commitment: Prepare during the week and arrive 15 minutes before the service.
Communion Ministers
Communion ministers assist the pastor with serving bread and the cup during Holy Communion. They help create an orderly, welcoming, and reverent experience for everyone who comes to the table.
Training is provided and includes instructions about serving Communion, hospitality, accessibility, and the practices of Faith Church.
Typical commitment: Serve during scheduled Communion services and arrive 15–20 minutes early.
Flower Ministry
The Flower Ministry helps beautify the sanctuary for Sunday worship, holidays, weddings, memorials, and other special occasions. Volunteers may arrange flowers, coordinate memorial dedications, or deliver flowers to homebound members after services.
No professional floral experience is required.
Typical commitment: Flexible and especially helpful around seasonal services.
Altar and Worship Preparation Team
The Altar and Worship Preparation Team readies the sanctuary for Sunday and seasonal services. Members may arrange Communion elements, prepare candles, organize worship materials, and help maintain a welcoming worship space.
Much of this work happens quietly before or after services, making it a good opportunity for those who prefer a behind-the-scenes role.
Typical commitment: Varies according to the worship calendar.
Prayer Team
Prayer Team members support the congregation by praying for concerns shared during worship and throughout the week. Depending on the service, trained volunteers may also be available to pray privately with individuals.
This ministry calls for compassion, discretion, and a commitment to confidentiality.
Typical commitment: Serve during scheduled services and pray regularly for submitted requests.
Children’s Worship Volunteers
Children’s Worship volunteers provide a safe and engaging environment where children can learn about Scripture and participate in age-appropriate worship activities. Volunteers may lead lessons, assist with crafts, welcome families, or help with check-in.
All volunteers working with children complete the church’s required application, training, and safety screening.
Typical commitment: Varies by role and follows a rotating schedule.
